Joel, the four gauges on the carb balancer in J C Whitney is so you can
do up to a four cylinder bike. You will only use two of the gauges, all
four are the same. Yes the brembo bleeder screw is the one for bleeding
air out of a caliper with the rubber cap on it. They fit into the plug
in the manifolds and you attatch the vaccum line to the gauges to that.
If you get a set of JCW gauges the fitting supplied with the unit do not
fit the Guzzi.
You need the slack in the cable to insure both carb slides are indeed
closing all the way. When you do the 3500 RPM adjustment add more slack
to balance the carbs rather than remove it so you don't remove all the
slack.
Yes the small flush srew is the idle jet or mixture screw. As I said,
repeat steps 5, 6, 7. I repeat it more than once, I usually repeat it
until I can't get it any closer. Finally, there is one other thing I did
not mention. If no matter what you do you cannot achieve a reasonably
close balance and you are absolutely certain the carbs are clean you may
have a weak cylinder. Check the spark plug, compression and do a leakage
test. Good luck again.
