Any one have any comments about the bar end turn signals?
Bob's BMW (http://www.bmwbobs.com) had the Hella units polished and in
olive drab at one time. The o.d. units were a bit cheaper and would
polish up nicely once the paint was removed. Dennis Kirk has a complete
kit (including a switch) to wire up signals for $19 (part no. 21-549).

I'll probably pick up some of those long-armed clamp-on style mirrors.
EMGO makes an aluminum mirror mount that clamps around the bars, then
the mirror screws in like a "modern" bike. You'll probably have to order
them through your local Tucker-Rocky dealer . Or you can do as I did -
buy a pair of lever assemblies from JC Whitney (part nos. AGH023270U &
AGH023271B - $7ea.) and cut the lever pivot part off, smooth it with a
file and sandpaper, then polish until satisfied. The mirror choices are
nearly endless then!

I need to add a windshield (yup; Imma wimp!). I'm thinking of the
police
style shield; any comments about the mounts, windshield size, style,
etc?
Did I see something here about notches (or none) in the instrument
housing
for windshields? What's that about?
The original brackets for the Harley-style police windshield (the
National Cycle Beaded Heavy-Duty is almost identical) mounted under the
top fork plug and to the lower pinch bolt. The top interferes with the
instrument panel unless it is notched to clear. MG Cycle sells mounts
that don't require any modification - they just clamp around the fork
cover at the top. MG Cycle also has a reproduction of the original Guzzi
police fairing - I have an original on my '69. It's very effective and
makes the bike stand out from all of the Harleys and clones in the looks
department.

And...I need to find a seat. Does anyone have a standard flat loop seat
they want to get outta the garage?
MG Cycle offers repros with a plastic base. Originals are fairly common
on eBay, as are nice German-made covers. Cheers,

Charlie
