I was a lucky sod and won a set of beautiful stainless steel All-Clad
pans. They rock for cooking but get looking scabby pretty fast unless
you use the recommended scouring powder called Barkeeper's friend.

It worked so well I got to thinking, "this would likely work great to
get off all that brake dust and rust and crap that's making my cases
look so horrible (it rains a lot here in Seattle and rusts my discs,
which then blows back onto the cases)."

It does. It has the same smell as Eagle One mag cleaner, so I assume it
has a similar acid component. It does a superb job on all the different
alloys used on a Loop, including the tranny and timing cover, which
Eagle One actually darkens on some bikes.

Also got all the brake crap off my front rime in not time flat.

It's not a polish, but not too abtrasve either, and it doesn't etch
polished AL either, also unlike Eagle One.

Two thumbs up on this stuff. I bought it at the local Albertson's
grocery store. It';s in a cylindrical can, like Comet cleanser.

Back to my bottle of chianti and a big rib-eye . . .
