your not supposed to run it in your engine. you use it to clean disassembled engine parts!! it will sieze your motor right away.

Hail Fellow Loopers,

Re: Antifreeze - IMHO- My take on this advice is: Don't try this at home, kids!

If I recall correctly from my November '03 Jeep Comanche Blown Head Gasket Tour, antifreeze will scour the lubricant (read oil) from an operating cylinder(s) in short order, resulting in scoreing of the cylinder walls or worse, seizure...This additive advice seems unsound at best, and I'll bet it is Bad Ju-Ju for Guzzi Big Twins and other living things.

It's beautiful and I'm going riding.

Respectfully,

I probably should keep my mouth shut.
How would you eat? Or more importantly, drink?

But what the hell. I heard by several people than running
anti-freeze in an engine, or clutch will clean out the system.
anti-freeze, I was told acts like a detergent. I don't have any
specifics, I'm just relaying what I heard. i would be wary about
trying it. Has anybody else heard of such a thing?
Sounds suspect to me also; what exactly is it supposed to be
cleaning out? One issue in oil is particulates, which should get
flushed out with an oil change or caught in a filter. If you ran
anti freeze in an engine for any length of time I'm sure its lack of
lubricating abilities in a hot engine would seize it up in no time.
Not to start an oil thread or anything, but the best oil that
you can use is one that is economical to change often.
