OK, I have my replacement Guzzi electronic tach in hand, hot off eBay. I
see two blades on the back and a screw terminal lug, and I can make out
a negative sign (-) adjacent to one of the blades. I also see in the
tech manual schematic two wires leading from the tach to either side of
the ignition coil primary, and a chassis ground on the tach. I presume
the negative blade on the tach goes to the points side of the primary,
the other blade goes to the battery side of the primary. Is there a
ground wire that hooks up to the screw trminal lug? I see the "spacer"
looking piece that apears to ground the stud to the instrument case, but
the dash is supported by 3 rubber isolators. Perhaps the tach is
grounded through the inst. illumination lights' ground? Is that done
through the twin lead secured by a screw to the top triple clamp? Any
help appreciated!
