At the 75th Guzzi factory party in Mandello del Lario, I saw a Convert
with an alternator mounted BEHIND the cylinders. In order to get more
spin ratio, he had v-grooved the outer edge of the flywheel to drive the
belt and notched the top of the bell housing to pass the belt. Great
idea, but what a pain to change the belt! I have a photo of it
somewhere deep in my archives.
