Hiya Guzzi people,

I have had an idea of what to do with the spare early incomplete V7 I have
siting around.
I am thinking of making a classic racer out of it! So I have a bunch of
things to sort out mainly over the best parts to use.
Please get involved and help me work out what to use.

It is more of a project than a racer as I am not fast on the track and I am
doing it for fun and cheaply... ie I will not be spending money buying fancy
parts to go a little bit faster when I standard Guzzi part will do:) Also
it is an early V7 with weak cases so to much power will break it anyway!

Please help me design the beast!

Questions....

FRONT BRAKE.
Options I have are...
1 Original brake.
2 Campagnolo twin mechanical discs (would look GREAT!)
3 Twin disc SCARAB front end. (would stop well)

CARB TYPES
Thinking of SS1 35 carbs... I don't want anything more modern:)

DIFF
What diff or diff gears can I use for higher speed??

GEARBOX
Will a 5 speed loop box fit in an early V7 frame and engine wise??
What would be the best period box to fit?

CLUTCH
Light standard one would be nice and cheap!

ENGINE
What is the biggest I can go with out stroking the engine?
757 would be easy... what about more?
CAN I put a stroker crank in early V7 cases??

I remember someone once taking about the difference from a 750SS and a 900SS
and enjoying the 750 more on the track as it reved freer and faster to rev
so I am thinking it might be nice to leave the engine smaller rather than
going to the max size.

WEIGHT SAVING.
Anyone got any brilliant ideas for weight saving on Guzzi running gear??

Any ideas are most welcome.
Regards
Gavin
6 Guzzi at last count.
