Hi Zebee,
Congrats on getting the GT running...I know that felt great! As for the
clutch that you cannot disengage/engage, here are my thoughts:
First off, I'm assuming that the clutch cable has ample free play to
allow the clutch arm to be adjusted.
It could be that the plates are stuck, and perhaps this could happen
with heavily worn teeth on the clutch hub. I've not heard of this
happening, but perhaps someone on this list with more experience can
shed some light.
Although I'm sure you don't relish the thought, you may want to pull the
transmission and have a look at the clutch assembly and the transmission
itself. Depending on how long the bike has been sitting, it might be
time to replace the seals, etc. anyway.
