so i just finished a restore, (73 eldo basket case that i bought off
this list ($1000.00 and looked like a baby blue p.o.s.))
total cost well under $7000.00 - i probably have 150 or so hours into
it. it is for sale, you may have see it at vintage days (i had 3 guzzis
for sale there (1 ambo/1 eldo/1 convert)) i'm gonna ebay it i think. i
really would like a v7 sport or lemans 1 or something else...(how many
loopframes do you need?). i don't know what runs like new means, as i
never owned a new one, but i'm assuming it's pretty close - strong
running, relatively smooth shifting, handles great, and brakes work
good....pulls strong right to about 90 or so, then creeps up from
there..haven't been on a long enough stretch to push it any farther..

here's what i did:

front end
completely rebuilt
new seals
powdercoat fork lowers
paint fork ears
powdercoat headlight bucket
new bearings
new front axle

wheels
clean and polish
new tires (bridgestone spitfire 120/90 rear 110/90 front)
replace rear shoes
rebuild front wheel
replace bearings
new brake cable

electrical
all new harness and sub harnesses
starter relay/headlight relay

frame
flat black powdercoat
battery box powdercoat
footboards powdercoat
new footboard rubbers

swingarm
new bearings
powdercoat swingarm flat black
new drive shaft
new u-joint
new uj boot
new drive shaft/uj carrier bearing

clutch
check for wear
new cable

engine
leakdown test
inspect cylinders (chrome liners)
inspect pistons
inspect heads/valves/guides
replace rings
check compression
inspect bottom end
inspect oil pump
replace cylinder gaskets/orings/head gasket/valve cover gasket

carbs
rebuild, polish bowls, new intake gaskets, new jets etc.

exhaust
new exhaust locknuts
new stainless headers
new mac whispertone mufflers

bodywork
powdercoat front fender
paint rear fender
paint side covers
paint toolboxes, new locks
new solo seat

rearend
inspect, replace seals

transmission
rebuilt (it still clunks! but neutral is much easier to find)

hand controls
new brake lever/perch
all new cables
suzuki left hand switches/ts/headlight etc.
new start button
barnett throttle (single pull)
new hand grips (Granturismo type)

instrument panel
all new lamps
new speedo (pending..)
new speedo cable (bought it, waiting for speedo)
new ignition switch/key

rear suspension
new progressive shocks

lighting
new headlamp
new front and rear turnsignals (big dietz style)

ignition
new springs, points, rotor, cap, wires, bosch blue coil, plugs

charging system
new battery
new regulator
new grounds/wiring

tank
repaint, hand stripe, polish chrome panels

misc.
K&N airfilters
new oem petcocks
new sidecover nuts
new dualtone horns (fiamm type)
all chrome polished
all new fluids
napoleon bar end mirror
most fasteners are polished stainless, a few i haven't been able to
find/get yet in stainless...
powdercoat license plate bracket
aftermarket brake light (looks like cev, but it's chrome)
every crush washer/wave washer/fiber washer that i encountered was
replaced with new.
all rubber replaced, except the tank rubbers (forgot them! eas to
replace though)

needs:
rear fender red lucas reflectors (available through british mc dealers)
grind down center stand so it fits.
fenders could be hand striped

if i missed anyting on this list, i probably did it, just forgot to
write it down.
