Hi Scott,
On bikes with no provisions for vacuum guages, I've used drill bits to
check slide sychronization. With the throttle closed fully find one
small enough to slip under the slides and adjust idle screws until both
are the same. Then open the throttle a bit (the tension screw on the
throttle housing can be used to keep it in place sometimes) and use
another drill bit to check the slide positions. Use the cable adjusters
to get the opening the same on both sides. All of the above is done with
the engine off of course. If the idle is then too high, back the idle
screws off a tiny bit at a time on each side equally until the desired
speed is reached. Cheers,
