OK, so it's not much of a mystery. Not even very subtle.
$0.25 history- my bike was shuddering into gear as I let out the clutch-
felt bad and sounded worse. Ian and myself and others came up with some
pithy and subtle possiblilities including a warped intermediate plate.
The reality is somewhat more pedantic. I have the transmission out of my
bike, the clutch taken apart, and I mean really apart. The *riveted*
clutch plate came to pieces. As Mark says on his website: Bonded Clutch
Plates, The Best. Hmmm. I guess we need to add to that: Riveted Clutch
Plates, The not-so-best. Good news is there is no harm apparent in the
housing. Now I have to decide what to replace. The RAM clutch looks
mighty inviting.
