If memory serves (my Guzziology book is in storage at the moment) Dave Richardson mentions something about this. Aparently, Bob Nolan created some kind of jig at one time or another to demonstrate that this was a problem. So, you may want to check Guzziology, although I don't recall any specific jig-creation plans.

What happens if the engine and tranny are not on centerline is that you turn the input hu and plate-spline interface into a planetary gear.
