hi there!
well, yesterday, i finally ripped into the old bike, and discovered that
the left piston had frozen to the bore. and of course, the chrome lining has
fallen off. Bob Hawkes has already given me a nice set of jugs, so we are in
good shape there.
i have to weld up the various holes in the fenders [had all sorts of
do-dads bolted there, included running lights!?] anyway, the fender tip
decals should be black, right? the p.o. had scraped them off, and laid down
some really funky early '70's style pinstriping [inspired by acid injestion,
from the looks of it]. hope to have the bike perking by the weekend. it has
not been running since 1972!
