I'm Murrell and I'm a Guzzi-holic.
I started out life with just a Honda 305 Scrambler, but that wasn't enough.
I had to bore it out to 337 and do other modifications. I sooned tired of
that bike and sold it. Life was good, until 1972, when a Norton dealer
opened up in town. I was hooked again and bought a Black 750 Commando(for
some reason, I didn't think this bike needed improving). In 1975, I took a
wife and sold the bike. I should have kept the bike and sold the wife. In
1987, I bought a 1975 BMW 90/6. My life started its downhill spiral. I
wasn't satisfied with the bike the way it was. (sound familiar?) I had to
update it, ie Disc brakes, electronic ignition, lightened flywheel, etc,
etc! many miles and dollars later I had a PERFECT 90/6, that I could in no
way, get a fraction of the money I spent, BACK! (also sound familiar?)
Then one day, Oct 1992 (one I remember well) an old friend asked, if I would
consider selling the BMW. I said "SELL?" He said "YES." I wrote down what
I had in it, and he immediatly cut me a check. I've been saved and I
prayed that I would never do that again. I stayed clean for years. Then
one day, last year, I got a Guzzi, a '73 Eldorado. I thought I could handle
it, you know, just ONE modification, but I just couldn't STOP!
I joined this group to tell my story, maybe it will help someone, not to
make the mistakes I have made being a Guzzi-holic.

After a year and a half, of the original '73 Eldo, the rear fender, frame,
tank and transmission are all that remains.
Goal: was to upate and retain the look.
Outcome: only the ones who know loop frames would know or care.
Project completion: pretty soon.
Pictures: not yet
Mods areas: suspension, motor, brakes, electrical, cosmetics
Specifics: well, it could take a while, but ask!
Hope you enjoyed my tale, ride safe!
