Subject: GENERATOR BRACKET PINS

I plan to install my generator this week and thought about replacing the
pivot pins with thru bolts. Shim out the space between the bracket and
the side piece that holds the generator, align everything and lastly
tighten down the thru bolts. This would make everything more rigid and
give rigidity to the main bracket and not weld in extra metal? Anyone
ever done this or thought about it?
