Hey Karl, It was me that sent that link on the windshield trim that
allegedly sets up eddies and pushes the wind up over your head
(http://www.saeng.com/4000.htm)
I was just writing to Joe Jump on this wind buffeting subject. If you
happen to buy some of this micro-swirl stuff I would be much obliged for
your unbiased opinion. This stuff is $12 per foot and I need 4 feet just
for my Guzzi windshield. Bob

I was thinking about a catch bottle, I saw a cool aluminum can breather can
with a drain on the bottom in a street rod catalog. As for riding slower, I
do allot of hwy riding here in Florida and use my bike for work. If you are
running under 70 you may get run over. I was in a car on alligator alley
last week and was doing 85 and I had cars and trucks passing me at a good
clip. I don't like to run over 80 on the goose, the big windshield makes
the front end get a little squirrelly. I am going to look into some of the
windshield buffer trim one of the guys had a link to. I am not really sure
how much oil I should be using with the Bub wedge oil pan so that may be
part of the problem. Is Bub even still in business ?

Hi Skip,
You could just mount a catch bottle somewhere (or just ride slower). :-)
Cheers,

From what I have read about the deep pans and pan spacer is that they
keep
the oil level out of the cranks rotation to help reduce excessive
splashing.
I always make sure not to over fill the oil level. I have never had the
pan
off the motor, so I don't know how the pick up lines run to the external
oil
filter. If I ever get around to taking the pan off I may try to come up
with
something.

 Hey Skip,

I would think that a windage plate (ala Pete Roper) would help keep the
frothing down, perhaps eliminating your problem.

http://www.guzzitech.dk/english/go under "Technical" in the left nav
and then select "The complex stuff" - you'll see windage plates on that
page.

I'm not sure what you'll have to do to make it work with the bub oil
pan, but I would think it is doable.

I do alot of high speed roadwork on my eldo. 80 mph for long periods of
time, and after a long hard ride there is quite a lot of oil residue on
the bottom of the trans and lower frame where the breather tube is. I
am running a cali 2 (1000cc) motor with a bub wedge oil pan. I run 3.25
qts of 20/50 and have a new breather box. I tried to fit a Agostini
breather box on it but with the duel coils, large distributor, & later
carbs, there was no clearance to mount it. I know some of the newer
bikes use the frame as a breather, but I really dont want to drill holes
in my frame. I have not checked the engine compression, but I do not
think I am getting blow by in the crank case. I dont think I am losing
alot of oil, it is just a mess Does anyone have any ideas ?
