Hi Steve,
My personal favorite has been the Continental TKH23 "Blitz" 110/90-18
front and the Continental TK17 "Tour" 120/90-18 rear. Both last
12-14,000 miles (YMMV), stick and handle well wet or dry and had been
reasonably priced. Haven't checked lately, but they used to be about $60
f/$68 r. Tires Unlimited (http://www.tiresunlimited.com) and/or Tire
Express (http://www.tireexpress.com) usually have the best deals.

On my '72 I've tried Bridgestone Spitfire S11 in the same sizes. Haven't
ridden on them yet, so no feedback there. Priced right - about the same
as the Contis. Chaparral (http://www.chaparral-racing.com) usually has
good prices on these. Cheers,

now that the ambo is running good enough to get it out of town I need to
replace the dry rot tires on it. What is good? I'd want something with
good mileage, road "grip" isn't super important also don't want to spend
an arm and a leg for them. Just something dependable.
thanks
Steve
