Yeah, I've had this problem, too. I ended up removing the floats by
destroying them to get at the pin. Once I could get to the pin with needle nose pliers
I grabbed the pin and tapped the pliers on their sides to get the pin to move
enough to grab the end of it. Had to buy new floats though ... sigh.
