Welcome Mark! Hope you have as much fun wrenching and riding your Ambo
as I do mine. Cheers,

hi all,

i joined a few weeks ago, having bought my 1971 ambassador about that
long
ago. let's see, someone asked for various vitals, so here goes...

i'm 33 (as is the ambo :-)) this is my second bike (the other is a
1991
ducati 907ie). i've had a passion for all things italian/european and
two
wheeled about as long as i've been riding and racing bicycles (since
about
1989, i guess) had a friend/colleague back then who had a garage full
of
vintage ducatis, huskys, etc that he raced and restored. he set me on
the
path. he also introduced me to guzzi by showing me an '85 lemans still
in
the shipping crate for "cheap". of course, i couldn't afford it then,
but
that's when i was introduced to those lovely cylinder heads! became
aware
of the loopframes a couple of years ago, and have been looking for the
"right one" with gusto ever since. this one is really clean and runs
well.
16K mi. i'd be happy to send pics if anyone's interested.

of course, i'll have plenty of questions. the bike could use a few
accessories, and i really want to learn to work on it. (immediate
priority
is getting the front brake functional) i love wrenching on things (been

doing it on bicycles forever) but have zero experience on motorcycles.
it's
too scary to just jump into, so hopefully some of you in my area will be

willing to let me watch you do stuff to yours this winter! i'd be
willing
to go a fair distance, so if there's anyone (and i remember seeing some
posts) in new jersey, lower new york, conn. or eastern PA out there...
i'm
in Union, NJ.

i'm aware of most of the internet accessible guzzi/loopframe info
sources,
including greg bender's site (great resource, greg) so that's a great
starting point.

looking forward to meeting and chatting with ya'll.
