My Eldo is still in the shakeout phase. I have only put a few miles on it
since getting it in rideable shape for the first time in probably 10+ years.
So, the other day I adjusted the air screw on the carbs out several turns
due to backfiring and erratic idle speeds. I went on a short ride and it
seemed to be running much better and I put it in the garage. A few hours
later I needed to go on a short trip, it was a little cooler and when I
started it it was running a bit rough which I chalked up to cold weather. As
I rode it got worse until it eventually seemed to be running on one cylinder
so I pulled into a church parking lot and it died and I haven't been able to
get it to start since.

I figure if it's not running it has to be spark, fuel or air. It is getting
fuel (pulled the jets and checked them to make sure they weren't clogged).
It seems to be getting spark, at least the plugs spark when out. I put in 2
fresh to make sure and nothing improved. I tried re-adjusting the air screws
back in just in case, but no luck.

The only other thing I can think of to check (will do tomorrow) is the valve
clearances, though I don't know why they'd go south so all of a sudden.

The only thing that looked weird is that my generator bolt was loose and the
generator had twisted putting a strain on its wires, but it doesn't appear
to be a problem and like I said it's getting spark.

Any suggestions?
