VIN 58532 I believe is the correct number of the change. Greg Field notes it in his book as does Guzziology.

Sorry, not necessarily true. In general, the 73 Eldo has timing gears
while the 74 Eldo has a timing chain. These are not precise
identifiers. Guzzi is famous for using up old part bins until they are
exhausted and then switching designs mid-stream. Not sure if anyone
knows the precise production date when the switch from gears to chain
occurred.
