Guzzi shop manual, V700, exhaust. 0.2mm intake. 0.1mm Eldo, exhaust. 0.25mm intake. 0.15mm Ambo/V7, ex. 0.25mm in. 0.15mm. I always use the metric measurements then don't have to worry about conversion.

Andy, thanks for the info on the paint, I'll bet some Indian lover did my paint long ago. I appreciate the offer but I think I'm going to go another way when I get around to refinishing it.

Greg,
thanks for the ride report. Although I'm about as far south as you can get without going to Fla. the altitude here is 6000' and there is snow on the ground, ice on the roads, and the temps are in the low 20's. Hopefully I'll be able to cruise down your way and enjoy the weather next winter when I have a loop dependable enough to do the trip.

Everyone, Thanks for all your advice and help on the Eldo project. To update, I got the clutch in (Thanks especially to Bruce Giller for his "magic wand", and the info on using the eng mount bolt and spacer to install the clutch, it went as smooth as can be. I've got most of the aluminum cleaned and/or polished, got new seals in the engine and trans, new gen bracket, (new stainless cycle fasteners all around) all new washers, o rings, and gaskets in everything I took apart. The new u-joint, drive line and swing arm parts will go in as soon as I install the eng/trans (tomorrow I hope) so it is coming together. If the weather stays too bad to do paying work I might have it running in a week or so. (It takes me a long time to get anything done as I have to read the book 4 or 5 times and ponder all the things that might go wrong while drinking beers before I can turn a wrench) I'll have plenty more questions in the future but for now thanks to all the guzzisti out there who have already taught me a lot, and hope everyone has a very guzzi christmas.

I read suggestions for valve settings of .006 intake and .008 exhaust.
Manual calls for .010 exhaust, right?

What say ye?
