Matt,

I checked the cam and it looks good, no wear.
And yes, I am having fun. Especially since i took the motor in my warm
basement and now can work on it anytime I want without having to warm up
my garage (currently it is -30 degrees outside).
I updated my web page with more pictures.

Gunnar,
a little pitting is OK, or should I say tolerable. That 2nd one looks a
little rough, but mine had some pitting too. I think the cam should be
OK,
although a visual check might be a good idea. Those cams are really
hard.

having fun yet?

Matt

I have a couple tappets that are pitted. See picture:

Are these a concern for the cam and should be replaced?
