Ok folks, took a ride to the gas station last night and on the way back the
generator light came on and won't go off. Put a meter on the battery and
revved it up and no change in voltage. Hooked meter directly to the D+ & DF
on my Bosch generator and revved it up and got 0 voltage. Is this right? If
I check on the regulator from D+ to DF I get a short. Is this right? I
pulled the generator apart and checked everything and the brushes are new
and move freely. I measured across the D+ & DF and got 4.8ohms. This
according to Guzziology indicated that my field coils are still fine. No
reading would indicate burnt out field coils. I checked another generator I
have and it read the same (not sure on condition or operatability of this
unit). I will pick up another regulator tomorrow and compare its readings to
the one I have installed. Any other suggestions?
