I've had chrome headers with stainless mufflers on my Eldo, and switched
to chrome mufflers to try them. I have stainless headpipes and mufflers
on my Centauro.
And my conclusion is that my money's on stainless every time. It might
not be as bright, and it might show some funny colors, but by Gar it'll
never rust, and nothing looks as crappy as rust. And rust the
non-stainless will, if you're like me and ride in the rain and the slop
all the time and don't have time to wipe it all down with WD40 after
every wet ride.
