Hi Dennis,

Are you referring to primary ground cable the runs from the battery's
negative terminal to a grounding point on the frame? If so - although
I'm unsure of the gauge - you may just want to see if there is a garden
tractor ground cable at your local auto parts store that will work.

The only other black wire that could run to the battery's ground would
be the regulator ground wire (normally I think it is grounded to the
frame, but it can just as easily be grounded to the battery). I would
think that 14 gauge would be plenty for it.

I'm joining in the great battery change-out that's infected the list,
and I
need to replace the battery lug on one of my battery wires/cables with
an
eyelet type to suit the terminals on the new battery. Does anyone know
the
wire size of those larger, black stranded cables?
Thanks,
D.J.
