Karl,
Have you seen the paint sold by POR-15 called Hardnose? This
is a topcoat, not a rust sealer like the original POR-15 stuff. It is
not affected by UV & it's supposed to be hammer-tough. I haven't tried
it myself, but I want to. I'd like to try a brush-on application-may be
just the ticket.
I've also used PJ-1 Fast Black hi-gloss with pretty good
results. The super strong soaps like S-100 or auto wheel cleaner will
chalk it up, but a good cleaner/wax will bring the gloss back somewhat.

Good Luck!

I am building a low buck guzzi cafe racer and am almost ready to do the
frame work as soon as a weld on a bracket or two. I really done want to
spend the money on powder coating and was wondering what some of you
guys have used to paint your frames with. More than likley it will be
done in red. Has anyone tried to use imron ?
