I say go with what you can afford. I have sleeved cylinders in my 74 and
they are doing fine. I did put new rings in as the PO had no clue about end
gap and it was about a 1/2 wide! Guzziology talks about the VW stuff. Once
it's together, nobody but you will know what's on the inside. :)

Speaking of using automotive parts, has anyone of you guru's ever used VW
pistons, and LA sleeves in an Eldo engine? 88MM should make about 950?cc's.
I have the beginnings of this on my project Eldo. I will never put the
miles on my bikes to warrant the expense of the nikasil route.

I figure there will be lots of folks not in agreement with this process, but
wanted to hear your opinions.
