Hey John,

There's an old aircraft machinist out in the middle of Kansas known as
"Pistol Pete". My brother, Ted, get's all of his antique tractor
machining done at his place. Great guy and he's got all the cool tools I
can only dream of knowing how to operate. Plus, he's got excellent
skills and a machinist attitude!

Anyway, I asked my brother what he would charge to make me a thread
chaser that size...ended up being about $50...can't beat that deal with
a stick! I think I remember the new one's being well over $200 plus a
healthy wait.

Got to love brothers. He ended up giving it to me for Christmas one
year, too!

2. exhaust thread chaser...for the the threads in the exhaust port of
the head. This one will clean up the threads, but is not intended for
cutting new ones.
Man, I thought I was the only one on this side of the planet with
that tap. My brother gave it to me for Christmas one year, he found it
at the not-to-be-named auto plant where he works.
The same goes for me, if anyone needs it I'd be happy to lend. It's
not the kind of thing one uses every day.
