5 minutes *might* mean a closed petcock...might want to double check
that first.

AJ,
It's actually an enrichener. Normally there is a small lever device w/a
cable attached going to a splitter underneath the tank, from the on to
the
carbs. When moving the lever it lifts a plunger in the carbs and opens a
passage for the enrichener circuit. this allows more gas to be dumped
into
the bike.

What do the plugs look like? You might of fouled the plugs if the
enrichener
was left on. Make sure the cables aren't getting hung up. You can pull
up on
the cable and get a feel of what's happening. It'll be the lower cable
on
the carb(s), the one directly on top is for your slide.

I don't know about your switch...Never paid much attention to any
marking on
the "choke" lever. I don't remember ever seeing any. As for which
direction
to move the lever, you'll be able to feel the resistance when opening, I
think it would be forward when mounted on the bars. I say "I think"
'cause I
had mine mounted upsidedown under the airbox.

I would start at the plugs, pull them, go from there.

I warned you all I would have some. Here is my first. On the right hand
grip there is a thumb switch marked A in one direction and C in the
other.
I assume this is a manual choke? Could someone enlighten me on its use?
Which way is start, which way is run? Thanks.

I'm bummed. The bike ran when I bought it and it started right up this
morning and purred for 5 minutes, then died. Haven't been able to get it
to
start since. I'm getting close though.
