Hi Bob,

If you are certain that all of your connections are correct (and tight),
then it sounds to me like the regulator is bad. I don't think it should
ever allow the voltage to spike that high. I'd take it back and get
another one. Best of luck!

Just installed one of the Bosch Electronic regulators. Works great at
idle. As I rev'ed the engine, voltage peaked up to 18.1 volts. I
connected it up just like the old mechanical regulator, same markings on

the new one as on the old. DF to the small field bolt on gen, D+ to the
large wire on gen. Battery to the large spade contact and grounded the
mounting bracket as shown in the drawing. Anyone using one of these
things, any ideas what might be wrong.
