<P>Fifteen years ago I changed the heads on my Ambassador, Header pipes were moving arround Threads were toast! Put on new heads and kept the valves. These old valves fitted into the V700 heads! Is that right? Will 850 eldo & 850 t valves fit or are they bigger? For sure the twin springs will not fit over the vavle guides. Guides have to be changed so should I machine the heads to fit the dual springs or just leave the singles? Thanks for the help Guy`s</P>

<DIV></DIV>Hi Ted,
<DIV></DIV>I wouldn't think there would be a problem with the single valve springs
<DIV></DIV>unless it was with float at high RPMs. The V700/early Ambo heads also
<DIV></DIV>have smaller valve diameters so you'll not get the horsepower of the
<DIV></DIV>later heads. They use a different guide as well, but the later style
<DIV></DIV>will work without the locating circlip or ridge. One plus that I've
<DIV></DIV>noticed though is that the V700 heads don't seem to crack between the
<DIV></DIV>(intake or exhaust? - can't remember right now) valve and sparkplug hole
<DIV></DIV>like most of the later heads do. If you use them I'd recommend using the
<DIV></DIV>reducer inserts sandwiched between two gaskets for proper port velocity
<DIV></DIV>and heat isolation. Cheers,
<DIV></DIV>
