Sorry Charlie - you're right, I just remembered writing a
check for 85 bucks - I dug up my receipt and it included
an application for title as well, and taxes.

Hmmm...
I live in Maryland too and my historic plates (for the
Guzzis and the
Mercedes) only cost $13.50 per year, no inspection
necessary. I'm only
supposed to ride to the repair shop, parades, rallies,
shows, etc. Of
course, the old beasts are always breaking and the
nearest repair shop
is in NC (or WNY, or Mid-Ohio, or...):-). I do carry
regular full
coverage insurance on the bikes (be kinda' silly to have
full coverage
on my rusty, trusty $500 220D). Cheers,

Historic plates also apply in MD, about 85 bucks for two
year registration, no inspection. Bike must be 25 years
old or older.

Here in Jersey, I put "Historic" plates on my Eldo
($41.00 and a photo),
and an inspection is no longer required. Any other
states have such a
deal, and why not take advantage of that while we're
all
 riding 30+ year
old bikes?
