I think if you open up the exhaust you might be able to get another 5 mph.
The stock ambo torps really choke things down. I remember I had a set on my
old ambo and I swapped them out for some open megs. Ran like a whole
different animal.

Nope, no tach installed right now as I've got the single gauge dash.

any idea what the tach read? (I'm not suggesting you stare at your

I was in a bike shop the other day that had a poster from Bub exhaust
advertising an opportunity to take a run past the traps on the salt
flats. Sounded like a cool loop experiment so I went to the website
only to find that Etheridge had already done it. I felt like Neil
Armstrong when he landed on the moon and found tennis shoe tracks.

For whatever reason, I'm bound and determined to get my stock Ambo up to

100 MPH. I've got a Sigma Sport speedometer that is very accurate and
records my maximum speed obtained. Coming across the Gandy Bridge the
other morning I had her pegged nearly the whole way. She got up to 95
MPH and held there, but no further. I'm going to take off my fairing and

give it another go one of these days. How fast have you taken your stock

Ambassador (750, 4-speed, 8-35 rear end)?
