Hi Rob,
There's one spline on the trans. output shaft that is cut further
towards the bearing than the others. And the "worm" drive gear that goes
on the output shaft has a semi-circular hole in it. The ball gets
trapped between the two. I turn the long spline up, tilt the rear of the
trans. slightly up and carefully place the ball in the spline. Then
slide the worm gear on with the hole facing forward. Cheers,
