I have used an 1800 rpm motor with a polishing wheel for years. Makes a
heck of a mess on the workbench, but more or less gets the job of keeping the
Eldo aluminum looking presentable.

Recently, while restoring a Greeves, I took the badly corroded front hub to
a local polishing shop. I thought the hub was candidate for disposal from
years of storage in S. CA. near the coast. I got back a hub that looks like
sterling silver. Used a new rim and Buchnanan spokes and the wheel is a work
of art. Polishing cost me $15. My point? I have polished my last part at
home. From now on, I'll let the pro do it. Besides, I''ll probably live longer
without breathing all that black stuff.
