Actually, a 6 is a hotter spark plug than a 7. Here is an explanation of
all the little numbers and letters:

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/partnumberkey.pdf

As an aside, I went online to determine what NGK had to say about which
spark plug to run in the various loopframe models.

- For the V700, NGK recommends BP7ES with a gap of .028 in.
- For the Ambassador, NGK recommends either B7HS or B7ES with a gap of
.028 in. (it makes no sense why the B7HS would be presented as an option
here - I think it is a mistake).
- For the Eldorado, NGK recommends BP6ES with a gap of .025 in.

As for Moto Guzzi, the nearest I can tell is that a BP6ES is recommended
for all models with a gap of .6mm / .023 in. This is what I use in my
Ambassador.
