Following up on Greg's shameless proselytizing...

In the latest MGNOC mag there is an Eldo for sale with
a 50amp VW alternator. I don't know if that info
interests anyone, but there seems to have been a lot
of talk about that sort of thing lately...

And while I'm wasting bandwidth, I'll also mention
that Dyna sells a "semi-electronic" ignition
compromise. You get to keep your points, but this
gizmo takes the load off of them so that they don't
need to be filed and adjusted. The points act like a
trigger, and this box works like a relay, if I
understand it correctly. It is much cheaper then a
traditional electronic ignition.

because the generator
 is
so close to the distributor.

David: The obvious solution here is to install an
alternator, clearing
up tons of space for the condensers. I heard someone
was offering a kit
to do just this . . .
