And while I'm wasting bandwidth, I'll also mention
that Dyna sells a "semi-electronic" ignition
compromise. You get to keep your points, but this
gizmo takes the load off of them so that they don't
need to be filed and adjusted. The points act like a
trigger, and this box works like a relay, if I
understand it correctly. It is much cheaper then a
traditional electronic ignition.

Yep, that was the same as the Boyer box. I only needed one box for the
single point Eldo and I wired it so I could pull the box and reconnect
easily if it failed -- which it did. I didn't touch the points for two
years and it only cost $20. This was about the same time Mike was doing
his newbie introduction to the MGCL.

I finished my points reversion and I am happy to report that I have a
strong spark at the right plug. Still no spark on the left side
(Sinestra!) but time will tell.
