Hi Doug,

The one's I bought are item number ZX014804P at
http://www.jcwhitney.com.

They have a universal mounting bracket that is about as good as
everything else that is universal in this world. They are certainly
louder and have a more throaty tone. I like them pretty well so far, but
I'm going to have play around with the mounting system to get them
tucked up higher and further in on each side. They hit WAY too early in
the corners right now.

Greg,
Which $100 exhaust from JC whitney? I've been looking at the
Dunstall's but have not committed as yet. I'm looking for a little
louder
exhaust to replace the original cigar style on my Ambo.

Last weekend was wonderful...shimmed a 850T 5-speed transmission and put
new wirth fork springs in the Ambassador. I took my time and had lot's
of fun. Even showed baby Darby how the Guzzi 5 speed transmission
operates.

Last night I was in a hurry to get a lot of stuff done (if you haven't
already, be sure to key in on the fact that I was in a hurry). I should
have stopped after I spilled half a quart of used motor oil while
changing oil in the car. But no! I just had to get those $100 JC Whitney
free-flow mufflers installed on the Ambo. I was in an awkward position
tightening the 17mm muffler hanging bolt and nut on rear frame...using
way too much force, too. My socket slipped off the bolt and I rammed my
face into the left rear crash bar. It hit right below my left eye and
felt like I had been smacked with a baseball bat - I hit that bar hard.

So, I went inside and Angela put some miracle cream on it. I'm right
back in garage a minute later because those stupid mufflers are going to
get installed tonight!!!!! I do slow down and manage to complete the job
with further incident. Amazingly, Angela's magic cream seemed to have
worked. Neither my cheek nor my eye has turned black and blue, although
my cheek is quite tender to the touch.
