That would be a big help. Carrier plate, shifter shaft, internal and
external views. I am not as familiar with the 4-speeds. I fullly
understand your concept of squishing two o-rings (outer and inner) on
the shifter shaft. Sounds like that might work for us as this bike is
not destined for a high mileage future. Just the occasional showoff.
We might even go to the extent of grooving the shifter carrier for an
0-ring like the 5-speeds.
