Yes, factory used what ever motor they had handy at the time. Only later
did
they start putting in matched numbers.

Paul, yes sir you are right, my mistake it is a V700 not Ambo but what
do
you think about the different numbers, did the factory ever do that?

67-68 is correct. Should actually be a V700 as the Ambo didn't come out
till
late 68 early 69 and had a 5 digit VIN.

My friend Scott just bought an Ambassador that is registered as a 1968.
The
frame number reads 1787 and the engine number reads 1901. This
obviously
could be a swapped out engine but could it also be that it came from the
factory this way? Also, could this really be a 1967?? Is Ian Adkins
around, he may know something about this?? Thanks, Bob Hawkes
