Kevin, Welcome to the best bunch of guys on the Internet. I just recently
buffed out the dash on my 69 Ambo and it truly brings out the beauty of the
bike even more, I agree. And, for me as well, I do prefer the shiny patina
of aluminum to the bling-bling of chrome. It's all a matter of personal
preference. Again, welcome and you will like this list. Bob Hawkes

Those do have a certain charm to them. Much better than the later dual
gauge black boxes. I am still in love with the simplicity of the early
V7's dash like mine.

I was at Moto International, in Seattle, about a year and a half ago and
someone had one in there similar to mine, but the dash and the valve
covers were chromed. It didn't look quite right. No offense if any of
you own that one or if you have chromed aluminium. It's just a personal
preference. Polishing the dash and side covers is a pain but I just love
that aluminium dash.
