I guess that would be it. Trade some golf clubs for one. 76 model guy parked
it in 77 and hasn't ridden it since.

i too am a big fan of two strokes, i have a gt 250, a gt750, a h1, a
rd400, and a rd 400 daytona + a few more... nothing like 2 stroke power.
i really like the rd's - awesome handling ..most run with no battery,
and once setup are pretty indestructible. the plug fouling/piston holing
is really not an issue once they're setup properly..

 Hi Bob,
Thought maybe I'd like to have one myself, but am not particularly
fond
of two-strokes or Japanese bikes in general. Don't know much about the
beasties - maybe someone else on the list knows about them? Cheers,

Charlie, Bob -

I'm a big Suzuki two-smoker fan, had quite a few two strokes over the
years and they have a major advantage in simplicity for the
over-the-road rider. No valves, pushrods, cams, cam chains, etc. No
oil changes.

The GT-750 is the best of the lot. I had a '73 and a '75, they were
great bikes, smooth, powerful, I always enjoyed their power delivery.
I used to get 1250 miles to a quart of injector oil. Most of my
four-strokes burn more than that, and the Suzuki is DESIGNED to burn
it.

I just last week bought an almost-mint '76 Suzuki GT-500 two-stroke
twin
(the later version of the 'Titan') and have been having a good time
buzzing around on it. Just like I remembered.

Back in the day before the marketeers had convinced everyone that if
you
have a bike less than 1500 CC you're just a punk, people used to hang a
Windjammer and bags on a GT-500 and hit the interstate for the opposite
coast. The 750 will hold its own with any modern tourer....sort of like
a loopframe!
