I think the Ambo/Eldo red was the same burgundy used on the V7
Sports
with silver frames. You should be able to find a code for that.

Hi Hans,

The early red was much more red than what I think you want. It
was only
later that the burgundy was used. I'll put some brochure pics on
my
 site
today so that the color code references have some context. And, if
anyone has more data to add, please let me know.

I would like to paint my tank a nice dark red, almost a
burgundy, and

have seen quite a few pictures on the web of loops where the
paint

 seems

to be a metallic dark red, typically with white fenders. Is
this what

Greg Bender refers to as 'early Ambo/V700 red'? Would someone
have a

 PPG

code for that color? I have checked the archives and found
references

 to

silver but not red. I have a spare tank that seems to have been
painted
in dark red, but the paint is so faded that it is impossible to
get a

 match from this tank.

Thanks,
Hans
