I thought that piece was to hold eggs when you hard boil them in a large
pot. They had something like that on the Iron Chef.

Friction is a greater factor than weight in this case.
Wear spandex, lay flat on the tank, fill the tire pressure to 80+ lbs. Think
quick thoughts. That is the cheapest way out. Plus you'l be able to sell
the pictures of your bike and you , in spandex, on the web.

I saw this one, too JU - and shared the same thoughts (sans cheese
grating), JP. I'm too big and heavy to ever be a jocky or a motorcycle
racer - not to mention the skills I don't have for either career change.

But, on the subject of *radical* modifications, perhaps I'll try some
the GuzziTech titanium ring gear to flywheel bolts...with the stock loop
flywheel, of course ;>

This is an old Italian modification- they use it to grate parmesan
for their spaghetti, very interesting to see this done at speed. I
always get a kick out of various attempts to lighten a bike and then see

an overweight rider hop on.
I've heard various reports of how the reduction of a pound is worth
so many horsepower or mph. Anybody know what this is? It would be a good

incentive for a diet.
