Ted:

You could have a blockage in one or both mufflers that's causing excessive
back pressure if they're that deteriorated. Sounds like you need a new set
regardless.

I got my transmission back in again (!) and my distributor back
in with new points and yet another new condensor (just in case).
Clutch is working great, but bike still won't run worth a crap.

One thing that is weird, I have stock mufflers ('74 eldo) and
both mufflers have recently begin crapping out their internals.
The little round pipes are sticking out of the pea holes at the
end of the mufflers, one sticks out about 2 inches and is
completely loose on the inside.

Is there anything I can do about this or are the mufflers just
shot? This wouldn't cause the bike to run badly would it?
