Well, I didn't want to say it in quite that way, but since you have, I
WILL comment that different couples certainly have different ways of
making their marriages work.

Although my wife and I share the management of our "stuff", and have all
joint checking accounts and debit cards, the machines in the shop are
under my management, and I find it hard to imagine that my wife might
have a particular interest in how many bikes I have, much less
suggesting (or worse, insisting) that I get rid of one to make room for
another. Right now there's 4 road bikes (3 tagged and on the road, one
on the lift under restoration), 1 trail bike (running), 1 friend's bike
(not running and going back to him soon 'cause I can't fix it), and two
cars (one on stands, one on the floor). I might tell her that someone
is interested in buying the Morgan, or that I'm thinking about buying a
BSA A10, just as she might tell me that she's thinking about replacing
the bedroom furniture (about the price of a 2002 EV Touring with 15,000
miles on it), or having some photos framed and hung (equivalent to
having an Eldo motor rebuilt). That way we know that we might have some
expenses coming soon, and we try to time things accordingly.

But it's hard to imagine her telling me that I have to sell the Centauro
if I'm considering buying an EV11....

But that's just us. Anyone that's found the woman he wants and has
decided how far he will go to keep her happy, and is satisfied with the
arrangement, is a good guy in my book.
