I have a similar relationship with my wife. I wouldn't buy a bike with a
house payment any more than she would ask me to give her the house
payment to buy a couch. I can understand a wife saying that buying a
bike is out of the question if she handles the finances, and knows the
money isn't there.
I do wonder about relationships where both parties make really good
money, but the husband won't buy they motorcycle he has always
wanted......"because she won't let me"....I hear that a lot....
