Jack, My 1969 Ambo had a wimpy, tired out old horn so I got a pair of
Fiamms and mounted them, one each, in between the body of the frame and the
upper bolt of the front crash bar. It required a relay as the Fiamms have
one wire each and the old Ambo horn had two wires (got the wiring diagram
from the Tips Book or Guzziology). The Fiamms are much nicer tone and
louder. It does give my ride a pimped look but it was headed that way
anyhow. Good luck, Bob Hawkes

Took the trusty Eldo out Saturday and, after a mile or so, the horns started
to blow. Last ride was a few days ago in a major rain, so I figure water
got into the horn switch or somehow the wiring to the horn got found a new
ground. No big deal. I stopped beside the road, disconnected the wires from
the horns, and taped them so they could not short against the frame.

What to do now? The stock horns look neat, but are not very loud. After I
fix the wiring, how do I get real horns? Can these be taken apart, cleaned,
and transformed into serious warning devices? Or do I replace them, and if
so, with what? Any experience in this area will be appreciated.

Also, note that there will be a European bike rally in Pueblo on June 17,
18, & 19. It is held in conjunction with the local art museum opening a
three month exhibit on motorcycles, the bikes, the music and the art
associated with them. I am in charge of rounding up the European bikes
(Harley's are the other half of the bike exhibit) and we have some really
great bikes for the show. Cost of the rally is Zero, as in Free. Great
town, interesting bikes, and good nearby mountain roads to ride. Contact me
for further info. Italian bikes will be well represented.
